Below is an Orff arrangement I created for the song "Cheki, morena, Cheki," a Merecumbe song that comes from Columbia. This arrangement and the experience design that accompanies it are designed for a Fifth grade Elementary general music class. Here is a performance of Romance et Scherzo by Gabriel Grovlez. I performed this piece on my Senior Half Recital on October 26, 2018. For my instrumental arranging class, I took several Christmas songs and arranged them for a full Orchestra. This project encompasses everything I learned in this class from writing for percussion, strings, brass, as well as how to use note writing software like Finale.
I chose to sing "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley. This song was originally published in 1961. For our vernacular music project Sarah Humphreys, Lindsey Showalter, and myself will be working with "Hand Clap" by Fitz and the Tantrums. Here is a song consisting of loops that I created using Garageband. We were learning how to input loops into the software, layer them over each other, and alter them so they are coherent.
For this assignment we were exploring how to create a Podcast. We had to figure out how to insert different song clips and then layer that with a recording of our own voice.
